Paul Joyner served in the United States Marine Corps. While in Okinawa Japan, he trained in Okinawain Karate. He then trained in Chinese Kempo under Chief Vierra, as well as Muay Thai, while in Hawaii. He started training in Gracie Jiu Jitsu in 1994, under Relson Gracie. Paul is a two-time Hawaii State Jiu Jitsu Champion, and he’s earned two silver medals in the Pan-Am Games for Relson Gracie’s Competition Jiu Jitsu team. He has a black belt in Namido Yudanshakai Jiu Jitsu, and a brown belt in Relson Gracie Jiu Jitsu from Relson Gracie. Mr. Joyner is currently living in his hometown of Meridian, MS, teaching and training some of the state’s best mixed martial arts fighters and Jiu Jitsu competitors at his Gracie 601 Academy. Gracie 601 is located at 4701A Poplar Springs Drive in Meridian, MS.
